Architect
The metaphor used to describe the mind's role as the shaper of life, as opposed to being a mere bystander to circumstances.
Mind
The seat of thought, feeling, and intelligence; the faculty by which a person perceives, reasons, and decides.
75–98%
The percentage of illnesses today that science suggests are a direct result of an individual's thought life.
Toxic Thinking
Thoughts such as fear or negative rumination that trigger physical effects like suppressed immune systems or rewired brain architecture for defeat.
Biological Events
The classification of thoughts which emphasizes that they are not invisible but have physical impacts, such as triggering 1,400+ chemical responses.
Redeemed Mind
The natural mind that has been regenerated at new birth and is indwelt and quickened by the Holy Spirit.
Learning
The first core function of the mind, defined as the process of acquiring and storing knowledge.
Understanding
The second core function of the mind, defined as processing knowledge into insight and revealing what to do with facts.
Reasoning
The third core function of the mind, defined as drawing sound, logical conclusions to evaluate one's current state and how to progress.
Imagination
The fourth core function of the mind, described as 'Faith with a picture' or forming the image of one's destination.
Meditation
The bridge between knowledge and understanding; the act of turning one truth over slowly until insight is achieved.
Thought Meeting
The term used to describe the Prodigal Son's turning point, where he reasoned his way from the pig pen back to the palace.
Neuroplasticity
The brain's ability to rewire itself and build new neural pathways in response to repeated thoughts.
Inspiration
The Spirit of God in motion in a person's mental faculty, providing supernatural insight that is worth more than a lifetime of struggles.
Quietness
A condition favoring mental development based on the principle that God's voice often comes in a still, small voice.
Separation
An atmosphere for mental growth involving intentional isolation to seek wisdom, such as Bill Gates' 'Think Weeks'.
Wise Company
A practice for building mental excellence through association with mentors, wise individuals, or their books.
Mind Audit
The first step in a 7-day mind reset which involves identifying five frequent thoughts and labeling them as either building or blocking.
Cast Down
A mental practice of replacing a blocking thought with a truth-statement, spoken three times in the morning and evening.
Excellent Spirit
A title given to the Holy Spirit (from Daniel 6:3) describing His nature as the source of supernatural mental empowerment.
