First Layer Edges (White Cross)
ensure that once the edge piece is in place, the other color on the piece is in line with that color’s face
First Layer Corner Right-Hand Algorithm
R U R’ U’
First Layer Corner Left-Hand Algorithm
L' U' L U
First Layer Corner Steps
rotate cube to have yellow pointing upwards
identify a white corner piece on the top row
rotate the top row until the white piece is in between the three colors on the piece
repeat the first layer corner left- or right-hand algorithm until solved
all of the colors on the first layer should be in the correct place as well
Second Layer Right Algorithm
U R U’ R’ U’ F’ U F
What it’s doing:
Second Layer Left Algorithm
U’ L’ U L U F U’ F’
Step 3: Second Layer
goal is to bring the edge piece from the yellow layer to the second layer.
rotate the cube so the yellow face is pointing upwards
identify an edge piece that is not yellow
place the edge piece between the two colors on the edge piece
if the piece needs to go to the left, do the left algorithm
if the piece needs to go to the right, do the right algorithm

Second Layer: What to do in the case of right positioning, wrong orientation
Second Layer Right Algorithm + U2 + Second Layer Right Algorithm
Yellow Cross Algorithm
F R U R’ U’ F’
Step 4: Yellow Cross Steps
In the case of a yellow dot, execute the yellow cross algorithm
In the case of an L, place the L at the top left, then execute the yellow cross algorithm
In the case of a line, make it horizontal, then execute the yellow cross algorithm

Yellow edge swap Algorithm
R U R’ U R U2 R’ U

Step 5: Yellow edge swap steps
rotate the top layer in order to match at least two of the sides to their color
place those sides in the back and right by rotating the cube
execute the yellow edge swap algorithm
if the only two correct sides are opposite of each other, apply the yellow edge swap algorithm twice
Yellow Corner Algorithm
U R U’ L’ U R’ U’ L
Step 6: Position Yellow Corners
look for a yellow corner that is in the correct position (colors in between the correct faces)
execute the yellow corner algorithm until the pieces are in the correct place
if you can’t find a piece in the correct spot, use the same algorithm for any random corner to bring one to the correct position
Step 7: Orient the last layer corners on your rubik’s cube
have the upper piece you want to orient in the front-right-top
repeat the front-right-top algorithm until the piece is oriented correctly
once a yellow piece is oriented correctly, turn only the top layer to another yellow corner piece you want to orient (make sure it is in the front-top-right)
repeat the front-right-top algorithm until the corner is correctly oriented
front-right-top algorithm
