Male Reproductive System

Corpus spongiosum

Glands that secrete fluid rich in fructose, comprising a majority of ejaculate.
Bulbourethral gland
Gland that lubricates the urethra, homologous to Bartholin's gland in females.
Prostate gland
Gland that secretes a milky alkaline fluid to aid sperm motility.
Scrotum
Pouch that contains the testes and regulates their temperature.
Testes
Organs that produce sperm and testosterone.
Epididymis
Structure where sperm mature and are stored.
Vas deferens
Duct that transports sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct.
Hypospadias
Condition where the urethral opening is on the ventral side of the penis.
Epispadias
Condition where the urethral opening is on the dorsum of the penis.
Phimosis
Inability to retract the foreskin over the glans of the penis.
Cryptorchidism
Condition where one or both testes are not descended into the scrotum.
Testicular self-examination
Technique for men to check for lumps in the testicles.
Testicular cancer
Most common cancer in men aged 20-35; no warning signs.
Smegma
Exfoliated cells and secretions under the foreskin.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
