People violating the social contract so people rebel.

Federalist social contract.

Bicameralism

2 chambers / houses because most powerful, the belief to divide the legislature into.

CT/Great/Sherman Compromise

An agreement for a plan of government that gave north the Virginia and New Jersey plans.

3/5 Compromise

An agreement that states 3/5 of a person to get more representatives so we can decide on slavery.

Electoral College

A constitutionally required process for selecting the President.

Importation Clause

Congress could not restrict the slave trade until 1808.

Amendment

The process by which changes are made to the Constitution.

Article V

Outlines an amendment process which needs either 2/3 state votes or 2/3 congress to propose it and 3/4 of states to ratify.

Bill of Rights

Our first 10 amendments is for everyone, no matter legal status.

Federalist No. 51

Treats of creating a strong big government without being tyrannical.

Separation of powers

Removal of office, discharging someone with a crime, House of Representatives take charge to go to Senate for trial.
