What is the role of the speaker in communication?
A speaker crafts the message and delivers it to his/her audience.

The message is based on WHY, WHAT, and HOW the speaker wants to say it.
Why is the listener critical to the success of communication?
The listener receives the message, and communication fails if there is no listener or if the listeners are not paying attention.
How are 'channels' defined in the context of oral communication?
Channels are the means by which the messages are sent.
What are the only five channels used for sending messages?

What is a 'response' and why is it significant to the speaker?
