Advantages of a Globe

A Globe shows the Earth's continents and oceans most accurately and is the most accurate three-dimensional representation of Earth.

Disadvantages of a Globe

Globes are small and cannot show important details or features on Earth; they are also hard to carry around.

Maps can be easily carried around, can be rolled, and are applied by navigators and travelers; they show more details in small areas.

Disadvantages of Maps

Maps are not accurate because it is hard to represent a curved surface on a flat surface; some areas in maps can distort size, shape, or distance.

Importance of Maps

Maps are used as a source of information for teachers and students, are useful for navigators and travelers, and are utilized by town planners for planning.
