shares
The equal parts into which the capital of a company is divided.
recession
A period of economic decline during which the economy performs poorly.
equity stake
The money risked when investing in a company or business.
stock market
A market where company shares are issued, bought, and sold.
forecast
A description or prediction of what is likely to happen in the future.
debt
An amount of money that is owed by one person or organization to another.
profit margin
The portion of a company's total profit typically expressed as a percentage of revenue.
investment
Money put into a business or financial scheme with the expectation of achieving a profit.
bankruptcy
A legal state or situation in which an individual or business is unable to pay their debts.
dividend
A portion of a company's net profit that is paid out to its shareholders.
pre-tax profits
The total profits of a company before taxes have been deducted.
