Enculturation
The transmission of behaviours and traits that allows us to survive and thrive in our culture. This can be vertical, across generations, horizontal between the same ages or oblique.

Acculturation
The process of changing and assimilating into a culture different to the one we were born into. This is a two way process.
Berry (2008) states this can bring cultural and psychological changes to both parties. He describes four acculturation strategies for the non dominant group.
