1.Always carry the microscope w 2 hands
2. ❌ touch the lenses.
3. Start w the lowest objective lens.

4.turn the Coarse focus knob until the lens is very close to, but not touching, the slide.
5. Once u have clear image w lowest-power objective, switch to a higher magnification

7. Always clean slides + microscope when finished.
8. Cover microscope w dust cover
Magnification eye pieces + objective
eyepiece lens + the objective lenses determine magnification of microscope
Multiply eyepiece number by the objective lens number = give u magnification of microscope.

1. Ocular lens (Eyepiece) - where u look thru - magnify specimen 10 X actual size
2. Nosepiece - rotating part; hold the objective lenses.

3. Objective Lenses - lenses positioned closest to sample which magnify it
4. Arm – Part of the microscope that you carry the microscope with

5. Coarse Adjustment Knob – Large, round knob on side of microscope used 4 "rough" focusing of specimen
6. Fine Adjustment Knob – Small, round knob on the side of microscope used 4 sharpen view

7. Stage – Large, flat area to place the slide on.
8. Diaphragm– Control amount of light go thru the aperture
