Ethos
Rhetorical appeals that focus on the speaker's or writer's credibility and trustworthiness, often established through expertise or experience.
Pathos
An appeal to the audience's emotions using vivid language, stories, or evoking strong emotional responses to connect with their feelings.
Logos
An appeal that relies on logic and reason, using evidence, facts, statistics, and logical reasoning to support an argument.
Kairos
Refers to the timeliness and appropriateness of a message, adapting to the specific moment, context, and audience to maximize impact.
Satire
The use of comedy to illuminate social issues or highlight flaws in well-known individuals for the purpose of clever or humorous criticism.
Repetition
A writing technique used to emphasize ideas, create rhythm, and reinforce points by repeating words, phrases, or entire clauses.
Digital Rhetoric
The use of persuasive language, multimedia elements, and interactive features on digital platforms to engage audiences.
Social Media
A modern persuasive tool characterized by immediacy (kairos), a demand for action, visual appeal (pathos and logos), and use by respected figures (ethos).
