After you put your micorbe on your slide you do what?
Prepare and heat-fix three smears (must allow to dry prior to heat-fix).
Step 2:
Place narrow paper towel on each smear (not hanging over edges).
Cut paper towel into little cubes,
Step 3:
Flood with malachite green and steam over water bath for 5 minutes.
For the LAST MINUTE you do NOT continue to add malachite green onto your slide.
Step 4 is what:
Keep stain moist; replenish if needed. DO NOT let water turn green.
(Malachite green is not safe! Do not breath and do not put down sink!)
Step 5:
You cool, then rinse gently with distilled water.
Then you counterstain with SAFRANIN for 2 minutes!!!!!!
Step 6:
After you rinse and blot dry.
Examine under oil immersion.
