Expressive violence
Violence driven by emotions such as anger, hate, or rage.
Instrumental violence
Violence that is motivated by a goal, often related to financial gain.
Cycle of violence
The phenomenon where abuse leads to aggressive behavior in victims.
Eros and Thanatos
Eros represents the life drive; Thanatos represents the death drive.
Substance abuse
The harmful consumption of drugs or alcohol often linked to violent behavior.
Cultural values
Shared beliefs in a society that can normalize violence.
Rape
The carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.
Date/acquaintance rape
Rape committed by someone the victim knows.
Degrees of murder
Categories including first-degree, second-degree, and manslaughter based on intent and planning.
Serial killers
Individuals who kill three or more persons in separate events.
Spree killers
Killers of multiple victims over a short period without a clear pattern.
Assault
An attempt to commit battery or intentionally frightening a victim.
Robbery
The act of taking property from a person through force or intimidation.
Hate crimes
Crimes motivated by bias against a person's race, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or disability.
Workplace violence
Violence that occurs in a work setting, leading to injury or death.
Stalking
A pattern of repeated and unwanted attention, harassment, or contact.
