Buddhism
A religion and philosophy based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, which emphasizes overcoming suffering through enlightenment.
Mahayana Buddhism
A branch of Buddhism known as the Great Vehicle, focusing on universal salvation and the quest to become a Bodhisattva to help others achieve enlightenment.
Theravada Buddhism
Known as the School of the Elders, this is the oldest surviving branch of Buddhism, emphasizing strict adherence to the original teachings of the Buddha.
Bodhisattva
An enlightened being in Buddhism who, motivated by compassion, seeks to attain enlightenment for the sake of all beings and may defer their own entrance to Nirvana.
Nirvana
The ultimate goal of Buddhism, representing the cessation of suffering and cycle of rebirth, achieved through enlightenment.
Stupa

Samsara
The cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth that all beings experience, which Buddhism teaches can be escaped through reaching Nirvana.
Silk Road
