Whats reaction time
The time taken from the onset of the stimulus to the onset of the response
What’s movement time
Time it takes to complete the task after information processing has taken place
What’s response time
Total time it takes from the onset of the stimulus to the completion of the task
Whats simple reaction time
Simple reaction time has 1 option to 1 stimulus
What’s choice reaction time
Choice Reaction time has more then 1 stimulus to choose from
Whats the single channel hypothesis
This hypothesis states that stimuli can only be processed one at a time
What happens to a second stimulus in the single channel hypothesis
It has to wait until the first stimulus has been processed
This increases response time
Whats the delay in processing a second stimulus called
Psychological refractory period
Whats selective attention
Allows performer to focus on most relevant cues
Prevents irrelevant stimuli entering the processing Chanel
What’s temporal anticipation
This is judging when the stimuli is going to happen
Whats spatial anticipation
Refers to where and what the projected stimuli are going to be
For anticipation to work you need to know both temporal and spatial factors
