Individual campaigns: double jeopardy

. the killer of Julie Hogg confessed to her murder after being found not guilty, the killer was protected by the law that you cannot be put on trial for the same offence twice

. Hogg’s mother wanted a second trial in light of the evidence

. the criminal justice act 2003 abolished the law and the killer was placed on trials again and found guilty
