Mid-Lent Day
The 25th day of the Great Lent, which is always on a Wednesday.
Exaltation of the Cross
A feast celebrated in the Syriac Orthodox Church on Mid-Lent and Holy Cross Day.
Great Lent Miracles
Seven miracles celebrated during the first six Sundays and the Saturday prior to Palm Sunday: Wedding feast in Cana, the healing of the leper, healing the paralyzed man, healing the Canaanite's daughter, the healing of a crippled woman, healing the blind man, and raising Lazarus from the dead.
Fast Durations
Great Lent (50 days), Fast of Nativity/Yeldo (10 days), Assumption Lent (5 days), Nineveh Lent (3 days), and Apostles Lent (3 days).
Fortieth Friday
The Friday during Great Lent on which the Holy Eucharist is celebrated.

The false prophet who was with the Roman governor when he met Paul.
Number Seven
A number symbolizing completeness and perfection, considered a complete perfect number by the Israelites.

The practice of strict self-denial and discipline to avoid worldly practices as a means of attaining a higher spiritual horizon.

The state of being secluded from the world in order to fulfill religious vows.
Christian Stewardship
A person's relationship to God which identifies God as the owner and man as the manager or co-worker.
Knai Thoma
The leader of the Syriac migrators who left Edessa in AD 345 for the coast of Kodyngaloor in Kerala, India.
Palanquin
One of the 72 privileges received by Knai Thoma and the Syriac migrators from the king of Kerala, represented on the Knanaya Archdiocese logo.
