Head of State
The role of the president as ceremonial figure of the government.
Chief Executive
Decides how the laws of the US are to be enforced and choosing officials and advisors (The Cabinet) to help run the Executive Branch
Chief Legislator
The role of the president in influencing the making of laws, the president will often suggest bills for Congress to draft and enact by signing the bill into law or vetoing it and rejecting it outright
Economic Planner
The president appoints economic advisors, meets with business leaders, prepares an annual budget request, and submits economic reports to Congress.
Chief of Party
The acknowledged leader of the political party that controls the executive branch, often throws fundraisers for and pledges support of other politicians from the same party in their campaigns for elections
Chief Diplomat
The role of the president in recognizing foreign governments, making treaties, diplomatic negotiations, and enacting executive agreements.
Commander in Chief
The role of the president as supreme commander of the military forces of the United States and of the state National Guard units when they are called into federal service
Ceremonial Figure
representing the country as a whole in a non-political/non-partisan manner
host of banquets and events for foreign leaders and dignitaries
The Cabinet
Advisory council for the president consisting of the heads of the executive departments
Includes the vice president, and a few other officials selected and appointed by the president, to help make informed decisions
Signing a bill into law
If the president signs a bill, it is now law. period.
Veto
a constitutional right of the president to reject a decision or proposal made by Congress
Budget
an estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time

Agreements with other countries that do not need Senate approval
No checks and balances!
US military forces
Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines as well as any and all other branches or agencies of the military
