The principle of utilizing natural resources to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
Production
The activity of creating or adding value to a commodity or service, such as a factory processing rice into rice grains.
Distribution
The activity of delivering goods or services from producers to consumers, such as selling rice to markets via middle-men.
Consumption
The activity of using up or reducing the value of a good or service to meet needs, such as a household buying rice for daily use.
Associative Interaction
Social interactions that lead to unity and cooperation, including Cooperation, Accommodation, Assimilation, and Acculturation.
Dissociative Interaction
Social interactions that lead to division or opposition, including Competition, Contravention, and Conflict.
Accommodation
An associative interaction effort to resolve disputes in order to achieve stability.
Acculturation
The blending of two different cultures without losing the original characteristics of either culture.
Social Climbing
A type of vertical social mobility involving movement to a higher status, such as a child from a simple family becoming a doctor.
Social Sinking
A type of vertical social mobility involving movement to a lower status, such as a manager becoming a regular staff member.
Demographic Bonus
A period where the productive age population (15−64 years) is significantly larger than the non-productive population (under 15 and over 64 years).
Transmigration
The movement of people from densely populated islands to sparsely populated islands within the territory of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Ethnocentrism
The negative attitude of considering one's own culture as the best, which can lead to gaps and conflict.
AFTA
ASEAN Free Trade Area; an economic cooperation intended to create a single market and increase regional competitiveness.
ZOPFAN
Zone Of Peace Freedom And Neutrality; an ASEAN political declaration to keep the region peaceful and free from outside interference.
Globalisation
The process of something universal or globalizing entering a country, characterized by rapid access to information and technology.
Bebas Aktif
Indonesia's foreign policy principle; 'Free' means not siding with power blocs, and 'Active' means contributing to world peace.
Social Change
Changes in social institutions that affect social systems, values, attitudes, and behavior patterns within society.
