APUSH Multiple Choice Section
A section consisting of 55 questions to be completed in 55 minutes, accounting for 40% of the total exam score.
Multiple Choice Passing Threshold
The target accuracy level for the multiple choice portion, which is 60%.
APUSH SAQ (Short Answer Questions)
A section requiring the completion of three prompts in 40 minutes, accounting for 20% of the college board exam.
SAQ Scoring Goal
The minimum score of 94 required on the Short Answer section to be on track for a overall exam score of 3.
SAQ Prompt Selection
Students are required to answer Prompts 1 and 2, but can choose between Prompt 3 or Prompt 4.
APUSH DBQ (Document Based Question)
A mandatory essay section (no choice) that accounts for 25% of the exam, with a recommended completion time of 60 minutes.
APUSH LEQ (Long Essay Question)
An essay section where students pick one from three options; it accounts for 15% of the exam with a recommended completion time of 40 minutes.
APUSH Exam First Half
The portion of the test consisting of the Multiple Choice and SAQ sections, followed by a short break.
APUSH Exam Second Half
A 90 minute block dedicated to completing both the DBQ and the LEQ.

A study approach focusing on general time periods and the events surrounding them rather than memorizing exact dates.
