Apparel Quality
Defined as excellence and conformance to requirements, providing garments that meet consumer expectations.
Aesthetic Performance
Refers to the attractiveness of a garment, including design, materials, and construction that fulfill appearance expectations.
Functional Performance
Relates to the usefulness, comfort, ease of care, and durability of a garment after wearing.
Durability
The ability of a garment to retain its structure and appearance after wearing, including resistance to shrinking and seam integrity.
ISO
The International Organization for Standardization, which defines quality as the totality of characteristics of an entity that satisfies stated or implied needs.
Intrinsic Attributes
Physical features of a garment that cannot be altered without changing the product itself, like design and materials.
Extrinsic Attributes
Features of a garment that can be altered without changing the garment, such as price and brand.
Perceived Quality (PQ) Model
A framework illustrating how consumers evaluate the overall quality of a garment based on various features.
Cost Per Wear
Calculates the value of a garment by dividing the purchase price by the number of times the garment is worn.
Acceptable Quality Level (AQL)
The number of defective garments allowed in a random sample during inspection, indicating the quality standard of production.
