Desktop
The main workspace in Windows where you can organize files, icons, and shortcuts.
Icon
A graphical symbol that represents programs, documents, or folders on the computer.
Start Button
A button in Windows used to access the Start menu to open documents, run programs, or make settings.
Taskbar
Displays buttons for each open window, allowing easy access to them.
Quick Launch buttons
Buttons on the taskbar that provide quick access to frequently used programs.
System Tray
The area on the taskbar where system-related icons are displayed (e.g., time, sound volume).
My Computer
An icon that opens a window showing the contents of your computer, including hard drives and connected devices.
My Documents
A folder where documents created on the computer are typically saved.
Title Bar
The bar at the top of a window that displays the name and title of the document currently being worked on.
Ruler
A tool in Word to adjust margin and layout settings of the document.
Ribbon
The toolbar near the top of Microsoft Word that contains tabs for accessing different commands.
Formatting
Changing the appearance of text in a document, including alignment, font size, and style.
Margins
The spaces around the edges of a document that define the area for text.
Line Spacing
The amount of vertical space between lines of text in a paragraph.
Print Preview
A feature that allows you to see how your document will appear when printed.
Cut and Paste
A method to remove text from one location in the document and place it in another.
Copy and Paste
A method to duplicate text from one location and place it in another without removing it.
Find and Replace
A feature that allows users to locate and substitute text throughout the document.
Bulleted List
A list style that uses bullet points to itemize information.
Numbered List
A list style that uses numbers to order items.
