Anorexia
An ED characterised by Low BMI, low perceptual body image dysmorphia
To diagnose anorexia a 3 criteria must be met
Criteria A= restriction of energy
B = intense fear of gaining weight
C = distortion in body image where the body is hugely overestimated
Features of anorexia :
2 types: Restricting type = excessive fasting for extended periods
Purging types = binge eating and self throwing up
Higher prevalence in women
1.9% world wide prevalence
Highest mortality rate
