Pyelonephritis

Gonorrheal (THE CLAP)(THE DRIP)

• Purulent discharge, dysuria, swollen testicles, develop in rectum, spread to endometrium and fallopian tubes (infertility)

• Sexual transmission, mother to neonate

• Co infection with chlamydia

Syphilis

• treponema pallidum

• stages: primary (hard painless lesion/chancre), secondary (rash starting on soles then feet then trunk and limbs + white wart like lesions), latent (no symptoms), tertiary (lesions affecting tissues), cogenital (blindness, damages organs and teeth, deform nose)

• Painless chancre

Genital herpes

• lesions around genital area, burning, itching, fluid filled painful vesicles

• Acyclovir (virus); HSV-2, HSV-1: oral lesions

• Days 1-2 (tingle), days 2-4 (blister), day 4 (ulcer), days 5-8 (scabbing), days 8-10 (healing)

Neonatal Herpes

• Blisters from cogenital herpes, lesions

• Mother to neonate

• Acyclovir (virus)

Human Papillomas

• genital warts, asymptomatic, irregular soft pink growths on genitals/anus

• Sexual contact

• Vaccines: cervarix, gardasil, gardasil again

Candidiasis
