Standard Slope of Horizontal Drainage Piping
Horizontal drainage pipes shall be run at a uniform slope of not less than 20mm/m or 2% toward the point of disposal.
Sloping Exception for Large Diameter Pipes
Any pipe or piping 102mm or larger in diameter may have a slope of 10mm/m or 1% where a 2% slope is impracticable.
Double Sanitary Tee Vertical Installation Rule
May be used when the barrel of the fitting is at least two (2) pipe sizes larger than the largest side inlet.
Sewer Requirement
Where plumbing fixtures are installed, they shall connect to a Public or Private Sewer System or a Private Sewage Disposal System.
Unlawful Deposits
It is unlawful to deposit ashes, rags, cinders, poisonous or explosive liquids, solids, grease, oil, or flammable gases into the plumbing system.
Industrial Waste Treatment
Waste must be first rendered innocuous through subjection to some acceptable form of treatment before being discharged.
Location of Facilities
Facilities shall be located in the lot which is the site of the building, structure, or premises served by such facilities.
Prohibited Workmanship Practices
It is unlawful to conceal cracks, holes, or other imperfections in materials by welding, brazing, soldering, or using paint, wax, tar, or other sealing agents.
Pipe Reaming
Burred ends of all pipes and tubings shall be reamed to the full bore of the pipe or tubing and all chips removed.
Prohibited Fittings for Drainage System
Includes Double hub fittings, Single Tee Branch, Double Tee Branch, Side Inlet Quarter Bend, Running Thread, and Band or Saddle.
Double Hub Sanitary Tapped Tee Exception
This fitting may be used on vertical lines as a fixture connection.
Tapping and Threading Restrictions
No drainage or vent piping shall be drilled and tapped for connections, and no cast iron soil pipe shall be threaded.
Water Closet Waste Connection Restriction
No waste connection shall be made to a closet bend or stub of a water closet or similar fixtures.
Vent and Waste Pipe Use Restriction
No vent pipe shall be used as a soil or waste pipe, and no soil or waste pipe shall be used as a vent.
Closet Bend Enlargement
The enlargement of a 76-mm closet bend or stub to 102mm diameter shall not be considered as an obstruction.
Dissimilar Metals Connection
Where mixing occurs, the points of connection shall be confined to exposed or accessible locations.
Independent System
The drainage system of each new building shall be separate and independent from that of any other building.
Protection from Breakage
All pipings passing under or through walls shall be protected from breakage with pipe sleeves.
Pipe Sleeve Sealing
The void between pipes and sleeves through concrete floors in the ground shall be appropriately sealed with bitumen.
Pipe Trenching Near Footing
The bottom of all pipe trenches deeper than and parallel to an adjacent building footing must be at least forty-five (45) degrees therefrom.
Building Sewer Horizontal Clearance
No building sewer shall be installed under or within 0.6meter of any building or structure.
Building Sewer Burial Depth
No building sewer shall be installed less than 0.3meter below the finish ground surface.
