What is the definition of an alcohol?
Alcohols are organic compounds in which a hydroxyl group (−OH) is bonded to a saturated carbon atom.
What is the general formula for simple alcohols?
CnH2n+1OH
According to IUPAC naming, how is the ending of an alkane modified to name an alcohol?
The ending "-e" is replaced with "-ol."
How is a Primary (1exto) alcohol classified?
