New cards
interneurons
interact to provide interpretations, planning, and coordination of incoming and outgoing signals
2
New cards
neuronal pools
functional groups of interconnected neurons
3
New cards
scattered neuronal pools
involves neurons in several regions of the brain
4
New cards
localized neuronal pools
neurons restricted to on location in brain or spinal cord
5
New cards
5 circuit patterns
divergence, convergence, serial processing, parallel processing, reverberation
6
New cards
divergence
spread on information from one neuron/pool to several neurons/pools
\-broad distribution of information
\-can provide both conscious and subconscious outputs
\-broad distribution of information
\-can provide both conscious and subconscious outputs
7
New cards
convergence
several neurons and one synapse
* conscious and subconscious
* conscious and subconscious
8
New cards
serial processing
step by step processing
9
New cards
parallel processing
- takes in same information and reacts in multiple ways
10
New cards
reverberation
positive feedback loop
