Abiotic factors
Non living factors
Population
Group of the same type of organism
Community
A group of one species living in the same area
Ecosystems
All living and non living factors in an area
Pyramid of biomass
Pyramid constructed using the dry mass of an organism always pyramid in shape
Pyramid of numbers
Pyramid constructed using the number of organisms in a food chain
Biomass
Mass of material in living organisms. Built up using energy from the sun. Measured as the dryness of biological material in grams- water must be taken out of organisms. Made by plants passed through food chains or webs.
Parasite
An organism that lives on or in a host and causes harm to it so it's the only one that benefits

Nitrifying bacteria
Converts ammonium into nitrites then nitrates
Denitrifying bacteria
Converts nitrates into nitrogen gas
Nitrogen fixing bacteria
Converts nitrogen gas into nirtrates
