Common Operational Picture (COP)
An integrated situational display that provides mission planning, decision making, and execution tools for all aspects of Command and Control as the Air Combat Element.
AN/MRQ-13A(V)1 Communications System
A mobile communications subsystem that provides remote radio communications via network connectivity across HF, VHF, UHF, and L-Band ranges; comprises 2 TOCNET XPHub-8Ms, 2 CISCO 3650 Switches, 6 AN/VRC-139s, 2 AN/VRC-104s, a HMMWV with S-788/G Shelter, an M1102 trailer carrying a MEP-1040 generator, and an ECU.
TOCNET XPHub-8M
An Extended Power Hub that connects 72XX Operators within a network using the soft Crew Access Unit (sCAU) Application to access native or external radios connected via the Signal Entry Panel; administratively accessed via the Voice System Administrator Laptop (VSAL) or Communication Systems Administrator Laptop (CSAL).
CISCO 3650 Switch (Communications System)
Switches providing interconnectivity internal to the Communications System in the Second and Limited Third Layer of the OSI Model; configured in a Trunked Configuration to link multiple vehicles for a larger pool of available assets on VLAN 6.
AN/VRC-139 Radio Set
A radio set providing amplified VHF/UHF/L-Band communications with a 2-channel software-defined radio; comprised of the RT-2034, 2 RF-410D-PA50 Remote Power Amplifiers, 2 Triplexers, and cables; one set resides in the HMMWV cab powered by the vehicle battery for Communications on the Move.
AN/VRC-104D Radio Set
A radio set providing primarily amplified HF and secondarily amplified VHF communications accessible via sCAU, supporting voice communications via the Audio Port and TACCHAT text chat via the Data Port; components include the RT-2060, RF-5833H-PA002 Power Amplifier, and RF-382A Coupler.
High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV)
The primary means of transportation for the AN/MRQ-13A(V)1; carries the S-788/G Shelter (exceeding payload) and tows the M1102 Trailer carrying the MEP-1040 generator; fielded as the M1152 (unarmored canvas) and M1152A1 (armored with A-Kit) variants.
S-788/G Lightweight Multipurpose Shelter
A shelter mounted on a HMMWV functioning as a primary electronic platform; houses equipment racks inside and serves as a transport container for miscellaneous gear.
M1102 Utility Trailer
A trailer attached to a HMMWV via a Pintle Hook for equipment transportation; transports the MEP-1040 Generator, Grounding Equipment, ECU Sling, antenna/cable transit cases, and reels for power, RF, and TFOCA II cables.
MEP-1040 Generator
A Mobile Electric Power Generator Set designed to deliver tactical, quiet Alternating Current power; multiple units can operate in parallel via a Power Distribution Box to run multiple AN/MRQ-13A(V)1 systems.
Environmental Control Unit (ECU)
The ECU B00037B variant utilized on the AN/MRQ-13A(V)1 to conduct climate control inside the S-788/G Shelter (cooling, dehumidifying, heating, and filtering air); operates on 120VAC, 3 Phase, 60Hz power supplied internally from the shelter.
HMMWV-Mounted Shellback
The central core system connecting various components into the Common Operation Picture; limited by network connectivity based on security classification and physically accessed via curbside and roadside bays.
Dell R630/R640 Servers
Servers providing data services to 72XX Operators to form the Common Operational Picture; supported by a Tripp-Lite UPS and equipped with 7 inserted Hard Drives plus 1 upgrade slot (monitored by the Classified Material Control Custodian); features purple interface panels located in Bays 1, 2, and 3.
Cisco 2951 Routers
Routers working in the Third Layer of the OSI Model to provide external resources (such as the AN/TPS-80 G/ATOR and AN/MSQ-143A(V)1 CTN) to operator screens; supported by a Tripp-Lite UPS and identified by yellow interface panels in Bays 2 and 3.
Cisco 3650 Switches (Shellback)
Switches providing internal interconnectivity in the Second Layer of the OSI Model; placed in a Stacked Configuration with Tripp-Lite UPS backup and identified by blue interface panels in Bay 1.
Tactical Data Link-J (TDL-J)
The AN/USQ-140A(V)11(C) Radio Set—consisting of the RT-1868A(C)U, PP-8453/U Power Supply Assembly, HD-1213/U Cooling Unit, and Mounting Base Chassis—providing communications and operator interface functions for the Link 16 Network hosted in AC2S VLAN 16; identified by white interface panels in Bay 6.
RT-1949D
A radio installed in the cab of the HMMWV providing Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol A (JREAP-A) and Communications on the Move in the VHF/UHF/SATCOM frequency range; not designated a Radio Set due to lacking complete SL-3 inventory components.
Network Time Server
A Shellback component comprising a Tripp-Lite UPS and an FEI-Zyfer (Frequency Electronics Incorporated Zyfer) GPS, providing precise time and coordinates directly to the TDL-J and Shellback Switches; identified by green interface panels in Bay 5.
