Neolithic Age
Also called the New Stone Age (beginning around 10,000 BCE), a period marked by the transition of humans from wandering hunter-gatherers to settled farmers.
Skara Brae
A Neolithic settlement in Orkney, Scotland, built mostly from sedimentary stone with sunken houses and covered stone passages for protection against harsh winds.
Çatalhöyük
A Neolithic settlement (c. 7100–5700 BCE) featuring mudbrick construction, rooftop entrances, shared walls in a honeycomb pattern, and few to no windows.
Göbekli Tepe
A Neolithic ritual site in Türkiye featuring T-shaped pillars decorated with animal carvings, illustrating early animism and totemism.
Newgrange
A Neolithic monumental site in Ireland aligned with the winter solstice sunrise.
Walls and Watchtower of Jericho
Early defensive and social architecture dating to c. 8000 BCE; also known for funerary practices including plastered skulls.

Cuneiform
An early writing system developed in West Asia using wedge-shaped marks pressed into clay tablets.
Iwan
An open-fronted vaulted hall or space used in West Asiatic architecture.
Ishtar Gate
A famous West Asiatic gateway constructed from glazed mud bricks.
