Temperate forests
Located between 30 and 60 degrees north and south of the equator, characterized by well-defined seasons including a distinct winter.
Temperate seasonal forests
Forests with cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers.
Temperate rainforests
Forests with mild, frost-free winters and evenly distributed rainfall throughout the year.
Taigas
Forests located between 50 and 60 degrees north, with short, warm, moist summers and long, cold, dry winters.
Deserts
Biomes located at 30-degree latitudes with low precipitation and special plants that conserve water.
Grasslands
Biomes that can occur at any latitude, characterized by seasonal drought, occasional fire, and grazing by herbivores.
Savannahs
Warmer grasslands with scattered trees.
Temperate grasslands
Milder grasslands with few trees, including prairies and steppes.
Scrublands
Biomes located at 30 and 40 degrees north and south, with little rain, dominated by shrubs and short trees.
Tundra
A cold and dry biome located in the Arctic, characterized by permafrost and low biodiversity.
