Setting
Where and when the narrative takes place.
Characters
The people, animals, or creatures involved in the story.
Protagonist
The character facing the problem.
Antagonist
The character or force causing the problem.
Plot
The sequence of events in a narrative.
Exposition
Background information in a narrative plot.
Inciting Incident
The problem or struggle where the plot starts.
Climax
The high point of the sequence of events in a narrative.
Resolution
The conclusion of a narrative plot sequence.
Point of View
The perspective from which a narrative is told.
1st person
A perspective where you tell the story in a personal narrative, or a character tells the story in fiction (using I, me, my, we).
3rd person
A perspective from an unseen narrator that is not a character in the story (using they, she, he).
Dialogue
The words the characters speak.
Plot
The overall sequence of events in a narrative.
Exposition
The introduction providing background information.
Inciting Incident
The specific problem or struggle where the plot starts.
Rising Action
The building series of events following the inciting incident.
Climax
The high point of the narrative's action or tension.
Falling Action
The sequence of events following the climax.
Resolution
The conclusion of the narrative.
