Analog Electronics
A branch of electronics dealing with continuously variable signals, used in radio and audio equipment.
Diode
A semiconductor device that allows current to flow in one direction and is used for rectification.
Zener Diode
A type of diode designed to allow current to flow in the reverse direction when the voltage exceeds a specific value.
V-I Characteristics
The relationship between voltage and current in a circuit element, represented by a graph.
Forward Bias
Condition in which a diode is connected to a voltage source that allows current to flow through it.
Reverse Bias
Condition in which a diode is connected in the opposite direction, preventing current flow.
Half Wave Rectifier
A rectifying circuit that allows current to flow during only one half-cycle of the AC input.
Full Wave Rectifier
A rectifying circuit that converts both halves of the AC input signal into DC output.
Transistor
A semiconductor device that can amplify or switch electronic signals.
Operational Amplifier (Op-Amp)
A high-gain voltage amplifier with a differential input and usually a single-ended output.
Comparator
A device that compares two voltages and outputs a signal based on which is higher.
Optoelectronics
A field of electronics involving the interaction between light and electronic devices.
Transducer
A device that converts one form of energy to another, often signals for measurement.
Optocoupler
An electronic component that allows signals to be transmitted between two isolated circuits using light.
Light-Emitting Diode (LED)
A diode that emits light when an electric current passes through it.
Solar Cell
A device that converts light energy directly into electrical energy.
Multivibrator
A circuit that generates non-sinusoidal waveforms, often used for timing applications.
