Covenant

Six ways a person is unique
Made in the image and likeness of God, rational beings, free will, unity of body and soul, willed by God, and being someone rather than something.
Why can humans be called persons?
Because God is a communion of persons, humans are made in the divine image, have a soul, and are the best of God's creation.
What are we created for?
To be in communion with God.
Who is called to be a saint?
Everyone.
What does it mean to be holy?
To live in communion with God and others.
Why is it inaccurate to say that a saint is the opposite of a sinner?
Saints are human; therefore, they're sinners.
What are the three primary vocations?
Marriage, priesthood, and consecrated life.
What do all three primary vocations have in common?
All three are focused on our relationship with Christ.
What is one unique element of each of the primary vocations?
Marriage: union of man and woman for procreation. Priesthood: deacons, priests, and bishops performing sacraments. Consecrated life: life in a religious community taking vows.
What is the purpose or goal of every vocation?
To love God.
How can Matrimony and Holy Orders contribute to personal salvation?
Through service to others.
