Blind contour
A continuous line drawing created while looking only at the subject, never looking down at the paper. The pen/pencil remains on the paper at all times
Modified contour
A contour drawing where the artist looks at the subject most of the time (80%) but allows themselves occasional brief glances down at the paper (20%) to check placement and proportion.
