Newborn Weight
A newborn weighs less than eight pounds.
Sample Size
The number of individuals or items included in a statistical sample.
Probability of Average
The likelihood that the average of a sample equals a specific value.
Sampling Distribution
A distribution of sample means over repeated sampling from a population.
Uniform Distribution
A type of distribution in which all outcomes are equally likely.
Central Limit Theorem
States that the sampling distribution will be normal if the sample size is sufficiently large, regardless of the population's distribution.
Standard Error
The standard deviation of the sampling distribution of a sample mean.
Sample Mean
The average value calculated from a sample, used to estimate the population mean.
Bimodal Distribution
A distribution with two different modes or peaks.
Mean of Sampling Distribution
The average of all sample means, which approximates the population mean.
