A gene, rRNA, tRNA, mRNA, and polypeptide chain
What is a gene?
A section of DNA that contains instructions for making a functional product
Describe the relationship between the nucleolus and RNA molecules.
The nucleolus produces RNA molecules and due to their limited lifespans, the nucleolus has to keep making these RNA molecules.
What are the 3 kinds of RNA stripes the nucleus makes?
messenger RNA, transfer RNA, and ribosomal RNA
Describe the functions for mRNA, tRNA, and rRNA.
mRNA — holds and carries the instructions from the DNA
tRNA — brings the amino acids depending on the triplet
rRNA — forms part of the ribosome
