Socialization
The process through which individuals internalize the values, beliefs, norms, and behaviors of their society.
Hidden Curriculum
The implicit lessons in an educational setting concerning authority, cooperation, peer interaction, and social hierarchy.
Secondary Socialization (in Schools)
The institutional transition of children from family-centered environments into broader institutional structures where compliance, collaboration, and cultural assimilation are expected.
Certification
The institutional process of measuring, validating, and documenting a student's skills, knowledge, and competencies through credentials such as diplomas, grades, standardized test scores, or certificates.
Credentialism and Signaling Theory
The sociological mechanisms behind certification that provide standardized metrics for employers, higher education institutions, and society to verify an individual's capabilities, diligence, and readiness for specialized roles.
Human Capital Development
The process of cultivating an individual's productive capacity—including physical health, technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and cognitive adaptability—to increase labor productivity and economic return.
Citizenship Education
Instruction designed to prepare individuals to participate constructively as members of a democratic society by emphasizing civic duties, fairness, inclusivity, ethical reasoning, and respect for community rights and responsibilities.
"Sport Education" Model Unit
A physical education framework where students take on civic roles within teams—such as captains, referees, equipment managers, or statisticians—to practice objective justice, conflict resolution, and inclusive participation.
