Explain the difference between the terms speed and velocity
Speed is just how fast something is moving (like 60 km/h), with no direction.
Velocity is how fast something is moving plus the direction it is going (like 60 km/h north).
If a person is chased by a hippopotamus, running in a path with sharp curves would work to their advantage. Explain using Newton’s laws.
A hippo's large mass creates high inertia, making it resistant to changes in motion and difficult to turn quickly (Newton's 1st law). A human's much lower mass and inertia allow for fast, sharp turns to escape.
name and explain all of newtons laws.
First Law: An object will stay still or keep moving in a constant speed unless a force pushes or pulls it.
Second Law: The heavier an object is, the more force it takes to speed it up (F=mxa)
Third Law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction
