What is EI ?
The ability to recognize, understand, and manage your emotions, and to recognize and respond effectively to others.
Self-awareness
The ability to recognize your own emotions in the moment and understand how they affect your thinking and behavior.
Self-Management
The ability to regulate your emotional response particularly in high stress situations
Social Awareness
The ability to accurately read the emotional states of others and understand the dynamics of social groups
Relationship Management
The ability to manage conflict, build trust, and the ability to devlope others.
Honesty-Humility
The degree to which a person acts with sincerity, fairness, and modesty, and avoids exploiting others for personal gain.
Emotionality
Reflects how strongly a person experiences and express emotions particularly fear, anxiety and emotional attachment.
eXtraversion
How much a person is energized by social situations, how assertive they are in group settings and how much positive social confidence they bring to interactions.
Agreeableness
To which degree a person is forgiving ,patient, gentle, and flexible in interpersonal situations particularly when treated unfairly
Conscientiousness
Reflects how organized, diligent, disciplined, and careful a person tends to be
Openness to Experience
The degree to which a person is intellectually curious aesthetically sensitive, imaginative, and comfortable with unconventional ideas.

Volitional personality change
Change that happens because you choose it.
What is trait-relevant Behavior
Behaviors related to desired trait. Ex. Agreeableness; traits that relate are patience, forgiveness.
Growth mindset
the idea that our abilities are malleable qualities that we can cultivate and grow
Fixed mindset
the idea that we have a set amount of an ability that cannot change
The Bystandard effect
the tendency for any given bystander to be less likely to give aid if other bystanders are present
Diffusion of responsibility
the tendency for individuals to feel diminished responsibility for their actions when they are surrounded by others, because the responsibility is implicitly shared
Pluralistic ignorance
looking for cues and gaining a false impression of what most other people are thinking or feeling, or how they are responding and following along
Evaluation apprehension
people's concern about how they might appear to others, or be evaluated by them if their reaction to a situation is uncalled for, or they misread a situation
Time Pressure (negative effects)
narrows attention, rushed decision making, reduced empathy, tendency to overlook signals
Ambiguity
unclear situation where others do not know how to react and look for cues of what is appropriate

Body Based practice which you pause place your hand over your heart and reflect on something you are genuinely grateful for.
Gratitude Visit
Think of someone to whom you are grateful, but have never properly thanked
Write a letter to them describing your gratitude

the tendency to assume that your private views do not match what most people around us believe

Organizations that take comprehensive control of peoples lives. Regulates work, sleep, meals, movements, appearance, social interactions, rhythms of daily life.

deliberate replacement of one set of values and identity structures with another
