Helminthes
Parasitic worms that are trophoblastic metazoa, causing high morbidity and mortality.
Geo-helminthes
Helminthes that are transmitted through contaminated soil.
Schistosomes
A group of blood flukes; they have separate sexes and lead to various forms of schistosomiasis.
Schistosomiasis
A disease caused by schistosomes, affecting various organs.
Trematodes
Also known as flukes, these are flatworms that inhabit various organs of vertebrates.

Tapeworms, which are hermaphroditic and require an intermediate host for their life cycle.

Beef tapeworm that can lead to gastrointestinal symptoms in human infections.
Taenia solium
Pork tapeworm that causes cysticercosis and other manifestations in humans.
Diphyllobothrium latum
Fish tapeworm known for causing pernicious anemia due to interference with vitamin B12 absorption.
