Frequency: D. Intensifying screen cleaning
air puffer, lint-free cloth, screen cleaner, and clean, bright workspace
Equipment Required: D. Intensifying screen cleaning
remove loose dirt using a puffer, wipe the screen in circular motion, long vertical strokes, 30 minutes
Cleaning Procedure: D. Intensifying screen cleaning
1. Work in a well-lit environment.
2. blank using a blank
3. Apply screen cleaner sparingly to a lint-free cloth—never pour directly on screen.
4. black , covering the entire surface.
5. Finish with (blank) to remove streaks.
6. Wipe dry with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.
7. Leave the cassette open to air dry for blank
8. Inspect for any remaining smudges or particles
Annually and as necessary after complaints of unsharpness
Frequency: E. Film/screen contact test
cassette and either a box of paper clips or a fine wire mesh
Equipment Required & Test Tool: E. Film/screen contact test
35x43 cm
wire mesh: size
1-2 cm square hole
wire mesh: hole
10 cm from one edge
the square hole is located approximately
lead marker
use a (blank) if the cassette lacks a lead identification area
150 cm to minimize geometric unsharpness, 100 cm
Procedure: E. Film/screen contact test
1. Load the cassette with a new film.
2. Place the cassette face-up on the radiographic tabletop.
3. Cover the cassette with the test tool (evenly distribute paper clips if using them).
4. Set a focus-to-film distance (FFD or SID) of blank to blank
Light Beam Alignment: blank
5. Collimate to fully cover the cassette.
6. Place a lead marker at one corner (if needed for orientation).
7. Make an exposure using:
• 50 kV
• 6 mAs
• This should produce a film density of approximately 1-2
8. Process the film.

blurring in any region and high-density areas
Evaluation: E. Film/screen contact test
1-2 OD
OPTICAL DENSITY: E. Film/screen contact test
measure density at the square hole in the test tool to confirm consistency
If a densitometer is available:
warped cassette, loose foam packing, and air packets or misaligned screens
causes of poor contact may include:
