Cross-Sectional Study
A type of observational study that analyzes data from a population at a specific point in time.
Study Population
The group of individuals chosen for a study from a larger population.
Data Gathering
The process of collecting information for analysis.
Exposure
A condition or factor that may influence the occurrence of a disease.
Prevalence
The total number of cases of a disease in a population at a given time.
Prevalence Ratio
A measure that compares the prevalence of a disease in individuals with an exposure to those without.
Odds
The ratio of the probability of an event occurring to the probability of it not occurring.
Confidence Interval
A range of values derived from sample data that likely contains the true population parameter.
P-value
A measure of the evidence against a null hypothesis; lower values indicate stronger evidence.
Null Hypothesis
A statement that there is no effect or no difference; the hypothesis that is tested.
Association
A statistical relationship between two variables.
Active
Referring to individuals who engage in sufficient physical activity.
Not Active
Referring to individuals who do not engage in sufficient physical activity.
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)
A disease characterized by the narrowing or blockage of coronary arteries.
