How does sound move?
Through waves

Crest
the highest point of the wave

amplitude
what is the total height of the wave called?
wavelength
the distance between two crests or troughs

trough
Lowest point of a wave

resting point
The horizontal line through the middle of the wave, halfway between crest and trough

taller, bigger ups and downs
if you want a louder sound, what will the amplitude look like?
If you want a HIGHER pitch
shorter wavelength (squish the waves closer together)
if you want a lower pitch?
longer wavelength (waves are stretched further apart)

If you want a quieter sound?
less amplitude (make the ups and downs smaller)
