Functions of the lymphatic system
1) Fluid balance, 2) fat absorption, 3) immune defense.
Lymph
Clear watery fluid containing white blood cells (WBC) that travels through the system.
Lymphatic vessels
Tubes that carry lymph throughout the body.
Lymph nodes
Small structures that filter lymph and contain immune cells.
Spleen
Organ that removes old blood cells and fights infection.
Adenoids & tonsils
Structures that help trap and fight germs.
Thymus gland
Gland where T cells mature.
