1.Constant Velocity- Linear Motion Expirement.
What is the aim?
To investigate constant linear motion using a linear air track
Equipment used?
Linear Air Track, Air blower, rider, card, 2 light gates, scaler timer, metre stick, spirit level, retort stand.

Method?
Level the air track using a spirit level.
Turn on the blower and give the rider a gentle push.
Measure the card’s length (l) and the transit time through light gates 1 and 2 ((t1) and (t2))
Calculate the velocity at each light gate using (v = s(length of card)/ t) and compare the results.
Repeat the experiment several times, using a different velocity each time.

How to calculate v?
V = s (length of card) / t

Sources of error? (Where people go wrong)
Parallax error when measuring the card.
Card not parallel to the direction of motion.
Light beam not perpendicular to the card
Precautions?(how to prevent those errors)
Ensure the track is level.
Measure the card accurately.
Conclusion
Equal velocities at both light gates indicate constant velocity
