Central Nervous System (CNS)
Develops early from the embryonic neural tube, becoming the brain and spinal cord.
Ventricles
Cavities within the brain that are formed as it develops.
Cerebral Cortex
Outer layer of the cerebrum, consisting of gray matter and highly folded.
White matter
Inner layer of the cerebrum, composed of myelinated axons that connect right and left hemispheres.
Cerebellum
Major brain region responsible for coordination and regulation of muscular activity.
Neurons
Specialized cells that transmit nerve impulses throughout the nervous system.
Cerebrum
Largest part of the brain, responsible for higher brain functions such as thought and action.
