A violent coup uprising in 1978 by PDPA to oust Daoud Khan (who had just overthrown his cousin King Zahir Shaw in ‘73 to make Afgh a single party republic. This turned it into a socialist government.

An Afghan military coalition formed by mujahideen leaders to fight the Taliban regime (1996-2001). Worked with America to take it down, was instrumental. Integrated into Afghan government until Taliban took back over in 2021.
