Accidental Change

A change in the accidents of a substance without altering its essence.

Example of Substantial Change

Burning wood into ash or transubstantiation where bread and wine transform while appearances remain.

Example of Accidental Change

A person gaining weight or painting a car a new color, where the essence remains the same.
