Domain

The set of all x-coordinates of a relation

Range

the set of all y-coordinates of a relation

Relation

Function

relation in which each element of the domain is paired with exactly one element in the range

Onto Function

each element of the range corresponds to an element of the domain

One-to-one Function

each element of the range is paired with exactly one element of the domain

Discrete Relation

relation in which the domain is a set of individual points

Continuous Relation

relation that can be graphed with a smooth curve or a line

Dependent Variable

in a function, the variable whose values depend on x

Independent Variable

in a function, the variable, usually x, whose values make up the domain

Linear Function

function whose ordered pairs satisfy a linear equation

Point Symmetry
