Real number
Any number that can be expressed on a number line that spans from negative infinity to positive infinity.
Solution
A value that replaced a variable that makes an equation true.
Real solution
A condition for an equation where there must be a real number that makes the value of the equation equal to zero.
Non-horizontal linear equations
Linear equations that are not horizontal lines, all of which have one intersection point with the x-axis, or one solution (such as y=3x−3 intersecting the x-axis at (1,0)).
Graph with no real solution
A graph of an equation where there is no point of intersection between the curve itself and the x-axis.
